So, the little two week break that we get between the winter and spring is now only two days away from being over… and I can’t wait. I have so much animating that I need to do. I’m currently finishing an animation project that I had to do for a class last quarter. I only made it one quarter of the way through before quarters end, but the professor still enjoyed it. ( I’ll try to post it soon.) Even though the quarter is done, I want to finish it, but unfortunately I don’t own the versions of the programmes I used at school and they are no longer compatible. So, while I waited I did all the penciling and inking of all the artwork for te rest of the animation. When it’s done I’m hoping to present it at a local atlanta film festival for students and amateur animators. In order to get all that penciling and inking done on animation paper I needed a lightbox. But I’m uber broke. So… I built one. animationbox.jpg

It’s not the greatest looking thing in the world but it serves its utilitarian purpose very well. I created it with various bits of wood I’ve gathered from rubish sites at apartment complexes. People leave fully intact dressors and shelving units. I grabbed some tools and disassembled a few. I added two disassembled lamps, and a plexiglass drawing surface. For now… it’ll have to do. I’m a big DIY kinda’ person, on all fronts. I don’t like prepackaged anything really, so I’m actually quite proud of what I acomplished in a day.
